I’m very excited about this. This podcast is essentially an extension of my Substack, but also will be a space where I will be exploring many things. The core of this is the focus on the “people who live on the fringes of society,” like other travelers and also people currently homeless. I want to share people’s stories who might otherwise not have a voice and hopefully spread compassion and understanding. I think people’s stories are sacred, literally making up the fabric of our reality, and if we all could suspend judgement and learn what people have struggled with and survived, we might have some more understanding. I truly think sharing people’s personal histories is an antidote to hate and fear, which we need as much of as possible right now. The ruling class is terrified that one day the working class might actually all get along and realize there are more of us than there are of them.
We live in strange times right now and I want to explore the strange. I’ll delve into things like spirituality but also science, and specifically some new areas like the studies of near-death experiences and past lives at the Division of Perceptual Studies in the Virginia Institute of Medicine. I love science, and I’m also at the beginning of my own spiritual journey. I don’t think those two things have to be separate. Science is always changing, and I want to explore those new frontiers, areas that might hint at the true nature of our reality. Along those lines I’ll also be examining the virtual reality that extends throughout our whole world. I’ll be looking at people who are falling in love with AI, and the marketplace of people that is social media and dating apps, the commodification of human connection. We’ll look back on the strange beginnings of a conspiracy culture that started on anonymous message boards and has spread into the mainstream, responsible for countless mass shootings.
“Nowhere” is a place where reality itself is questionable, where some people live and even die, it is the night sky that throughout history has inspired us to ask the really big questions, who are we? Where are we going? What is “real”? What happens when we die? Why do we always seem to repeat history? Why are people still suffering? Why is it so hard to find connection in this hyper-connected world? Where are we now? Nowhere, it is our address in this vast incomprehensible universe that we’re hurtling through right now. It is beautiful, and it is terrifying.
